How Customers Opt In

Method 1 — Website Form Opt-In (Web Checkbox)

Verifiable directly on kmtservicesgroup.com

Every customer-care form on kmtservicesgroup.com that collects a phone number includes two layers of SMS disclosure:

  1. A short inline disclosure rendered immediately beneath the phone-number input field stating that providing the number will require SMS consent confirmation, summarizing message types, frequency, rates, and STOP keyword.
  2. A required, unchecked SMS consent checkbox placed above the submit button. The form cannot be submitted unless the customer affirmatively checks the box.

The full disclosure shown next to the consent checkbox is reproduced verbatim below:

"By providing my phone number and checking this box, I agree to receive SMS/MMS text messages from KMT Services Group regarding appointment confirmations, service updates, dispatch notifications, and account-related messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions."

Customer-care forms with the inline phone-field disclosure and SMS consent checkbox include:

Note: The Careers application form (kmtservicesgroup.com/careers) collects a phone number for one-to-one applicant communication only (interview scheduling and hiring follow-up). Applicants are not enrolled in any SMS marketing or customer-care messaging campaign and the phone number is never used for SMS sends under this campaign's scope.

Method 2 — Written Service Agreement (Initialed Paragraph)

Used for in-home service calls and Comfort Club enrollments

When a customer signs a paper or digital service agreement (service work order, maintenance agreement, or Comfort Club membership form), the agreement contains a dedicated SMS consent paragraph that the customer must separately initial to opt in. Customers may decline by leaving the initial blank — service is provided regardless. The exact language printed on the agreement is:

SMS Consent (Initial to Opt In): _______

"I authorize KMT Services Group to send SMS/MMS text messages to the mobile phone number I have provided regarding appointment confirmations, technician ETA and arrival, service-status updates, invoices, and account messages. I understand that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that I may reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Consent is not a condition of purchase. KMT Services Group will not share or sell my mobile number with third parties for marketing. See kmtservicesgroup.com/privacy-policy and kmtservicesgroup.com/terms-and-conditions."

Signed agreements are retained on file by KMT Services Group and made available on request to authorized regulators or aggregator/carrier compliance teams.

Method 3 — Verbal Enrollment (Scripted Disclosure)

Used by office staff during inbound calls and by technicians on-site

When a customer provides their mobile number verbally to a KMT staff member or technician, the staff member reads the following scripted disclosure word-for-word before logging the consent in our internal CRM:

"Before I add your number, I need to let you know: KMT Services Group would like to send you text messages about your appointment, technician arrival time, and service updates. Message frequency varies and standard message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Do I have your permission to text you at this number?"

The customer's verbal "yes" is logged in our CRM with a timestamp, the staff member's name, and the channel (phone call or on-site). The internal log captures the date, time, customer name, mobile number, and the consent question that was answered.

Sample Messages Customers Receive

Appointment confirmation
"KMT Services Group: Your appointment is confirmed for Thu 10/2 between 8am–10am. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply."

Technician on the way
"KMT Services Group: Your technician Mike is on the way and will arrive in approximately 20 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out."

Service complete / invoice
"KMT Services Group: Your service is complete. Your invoice is ready to view at [link]. Thank you! Reply STOP to opt out."

Opt-Out & Help Handling

All SMS keywords are handled per CTIA standards. Opt-outs are honored immediately and the customer's number is added to an internal do-not-contact list.
